Blue Health builds fast, reliable healthcare technology—and select complementary products—that make a real difference. We care deeply about users, iterate quickly, and value teammates who blend ownership with curiosity. The Opportunity In this role, you will work across clinical, operations, and engineering teams to design, build, and deploy AI‐powered calling agents and messaging bots . Your focus will be on automating high‐volume call and message workflows, reducing manual steps, and unlocking smarter conversational agents. You’ll map real-world workflows, translate them into agentic automation, and deliver solutions that interact with callers, triage tasks, route conversations, and integrate with internal systems. What You’ll Do (Responsibilities) Design & deploy calling agents: Build voice and chat agents to handle inbound/outbound calls, voicemail logic, scheduling, follow-ups and routing. Agentic AI workflows: Use LLMs for summarization, classification, sentiment detection and document parsing in voice/messaging contexts with safe guardrails. Automation pipelines: Replace manual communication tasks by leveraging RPA, Python/JavaScript scripting, APIs and event-driven workflows. Tool integration: Link platforms like Airtable, Jira, OpenPhone, email (IMAP/SMTP) and CRM systems via APIs/webhooks to enable agent hand‐offs and logging. Web automation when needed: Automate UI interactions using Playwright/Selenium where direct APIs are unavailable. Monitor & optimize: Implement logging, retries, metrics, and SLOs for call and message workflows; refine based on data and stakeholder feedback. Document & train: Create simple SOPs and walkthroughs so non-technical operations teams can interact with and manage the calling agents. Measure ROI: Track metrics like call‐handling time, number of calls handled by agent, accuracy of agent responses, routing efficiency and manual-work reduction. Must-Have Qualifications Proven experience building automation workflows using scripts or API integrations in a communication/agent context. Strong proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript for building custom scripts, call/flow logic, and automation nodes. Solid understanding of REST APIs, OAuth, webhooks, IMAP/SMTP, rate limits and data flows. Excellent communication skills—able to interview clinical/calling stakeholders and translate needs into automation flows. Comfortable choosing appropriate tools (UiPath, Make, n8n, Zapier) or custom scripts depending on need. Familiarity with agentic AI, voice LLMs, vector databases and retrieval-augmented workflows (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex). Ability to automate web processes using Playwright/Selenium when APIs are missing. Ownership mindset—scope, build, test, deliver and iterate quickly with minimal supervision. Nice to Have Experience working with healthcare or PHI-safe workflows. Knowledge of emerging AI tools and voice agent frameworks (OpenAI Assistants API, Twilio, Deepgram, open-source models).
